A Household of Laughter

Let’s Laugh Together

Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” ~Psalm 126:2

It doesn’t matter how bad my day has been, how stressed I am or how many attacks are coming at me – when my girls and I start talking, there’s virtually no end to the laughter.

About a month ago I started making myself spend some time with them in the evening.  It started with video games and now it’s ping pong, but no matter what it is there is genuine laughter.

I’m very thankful for how God has given the kids and I such free spirits.  Outside of the all important family bonding there are also a number of health benefits.

Melissa Breyer posted on Care2.com eight health benefits of laughter

  • Lower blood pressure
  • Increase vascular blood flow and oxygenation of the blood
  • Give a workout to the diaphragm and abdominal, respiratory, facial, leg, and back muscles
  • Reduce certain stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline
  • Increase the response of tumor- and disease-killing cells such as Gamma-interferon and T-cells
  • Defend against respiratory infections–even reducing the frequency of colds–by immunoglobulon in saliva.
  • Increase memory and learning; in a study at Johns Hopkins University Medical School, humor during instruction led to increased test scores
  • Improve alertness, creativity, and memory

Here’s my challenge to all the Dads out there… Make your family laugh, teach them humor, encourage them make others enjoy life!  Just remember to also teach them that if it’s humor at someone else’s expense than it’s not funny for everyone.  If it’s not funny for everyone than it’s most likely hurtful to someone.

Teaching your family to laugh and to make others do so, will help them in social encounters and business.  It’s very disarming and also a great way to ease into more personal relationships.

What makes you laugh?

Cialis vs levitra or can be you it doesn’t interest. Then we can look towards viagra vs levitra but I can tell you about more interesting option. But it will be not much later.

  1. I’ve been feeling like this laltey. So busy, I can’t even identify what we’ve been doing. I feel constantly rushed and overwhelmed, but I don’t feel like I have a lot to show for it. I hope you can find some R&R soon!
